News of Participation in the PlayStation® 30th Anniversary YOASOBI Collaboration Project

PlayStation Japan and J-POP artist YOASOBI collaborated on a PlayStation 30th anniversary project, with South Korea’s creative group Azikazin Magic World participating.

In South Korea, J-POP artist YOASOBI, widely known for the opening song “Idol” of the anime Oshi no Ko, released a new song “PLAYERS” and its music video on April 17th based on gamers’ memories gathered under the hashtag #MemoryOfPlay.

The “PLAYERS” music video, themed around “the game you’d want to erase your memory to play again,” features works from 30 teams showcasing PlayStation game styles from the past to the present. Among them, Azikazin Magic World’s work appears in the final highlight, chanting “One more time! One more time!” (mou ittkai ! mou ittkai !).

Azikazin Magic World created a work under the keyword “first dungeon,” utilizing the characteristics of early PS1 2.5D side-scrolling games where 2D and 3D coexist. They also reimagined the project’s main character, ‘Sotai,’ and Azikazin Magic World’s character ‘Jujubee’ in a casual adventure game style.

Azikazin Magic World is a South Korean four-member creative group consisting of art director and beatmaker ‘Lionclad,’ singer-songwriter ‘Moogia,’ CG artist ‘Lee Sungmoon,’ and video and programming specialist ‘Song Kiho.’ They are known for incorporating self-developed and played games into their video production techniques.

Operating based on their own IP, Azikazin Magic World consistently delivers content inspired by gaming culture through their Game-nimation music video series, which blends games and animation, and live content combining rhythm games and electronic music performances ((Rhythm*Pocket!)).

* #MemoryOfPlay is a hashtag for PlayStation and YOASOBI’s 30th anniversary campaign, aimed at freely sharing memories from childhood to recent times of playing PlayStation.
